Tiny Motors, Massive Power

Standing tall at 177 cm and weighing in at 52 kg, CyberOne isn’t just designed to look human but to move like one too. Thanks to Xiaomi’s self-developed bipedal control system, every step it takes is smooth,  stable, and perfectly balanced. With an impressive 168 cm arm span and  13 joints offering 21 degrees of freedom, this robot has the agility to match a human’s range of motion. And get this—it can react in just 0.5 meters per second. That’s some impressive speed for a robot!

What powers all this movement? Tiny yet powerful motors weighing just 500 grams each, delivering up to 30 Nm of torque for the upper body and a whopping 300 Nm for the lower body. This gives CyberOne the strength to lift 1.5 kg with one hand and move with a peak torque density of 96 Nm/kg. All this while keeping up with humans at a walking speed of 3.6 km/h.

Seeing the World, Understanding You

But CyberOne is more than just having a human-like body; it can see and analyze the world around it. It utilizes Xiaomi’s Mi-Sense depth vision module to perceive its environment with 99% accuracy and up to 8 meters away. Combined with AI-powered algorithms, it recognizes faces,  gestures, and even subtle facial expressions.

But CyberOne’s AI goes beyond its vision algorithms. Using Xiaomi’s MiAI environment semantics recognition engine and vocal emotion detection system, this robot can process 85 types of sounds and identify 45 different human emotions. Yes, it knows when you’re happy, sad, or anything in between. How about a robot that knows when you need a hug?

Adaptive, Intuitive, and Always Aware

Wondering how all this tech translates into real-world interaction? CyberOne’s curved OLED display acts as a real-time interface, showing interactive information and helping it respond to your mood, gestures,  and expressions. It can adjust to your emotional state or adapt to changes in the room to ensure smooth, natural interactions.

Plus, with GPS real-time synchronization, this robot knows exactly where it’s going, even in complex environments. CyberOne is designed to move effortlessly around its surroundings, dodge obstacles and navigate your home or office. It could even be your next assistant!

The Road Ahead: Xiaomi’s Vision for Everyday Robotics

Xiaomi’s vision for the future doesn’t stop at smartphones or smart homes—it’s expanding into electric vehicles and even humanoid robots. This forward-thinking initiative, called the Xiaomi Technology Ecosphere, aims to integrate cutting-edge technology into everyday life seamlessly.

With CyberOne at the forefront, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun believes that intelligent robots will soon become as commonplace as smartphones. “We’re confident that robots will be an integral part of people’s daily lives,” Lei Jun says, reflecting Xiaomi’s ambitious vision. And with technology evolving at such a rapid pace, a future where robots are part of our daily interactions may be closer than we think.

Brief History

Xiaomi, founded in 2010 by Lei Jun and a group of engineers, quickly gained global attention by delivering high-quality smartphones at affordable prices. The company’s “Internet+” business model focused on creating an ecosystem of connected smart devices, expanding beyond smartphones to smart home appliances, wearables, and IoT products.

In 2022, Xiaomi introduced CyberOne, its first humanoid robot, marking a bold expansion into robotics. The launch of CyberOne reflected Xiaomi’s vision of integrating robotics into daily life. Equipped with advanced AI, emotion recognition, and human-like mobility, CyberOne is part of Xiaomi’s broader initiative to lead in the robotics industry.
