Event Description and Details

This symposium is organized by the 48th Mechanisms and Robotics Conference (MR) as part of the ASME IDETC 2024. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics.

Biological inspiration of mechanisms and materials has led to a proliferation of soft and continuum systems with potential applications in a wide range of fields, such as robotics, micro/nano positioning devices, medical devices, and stretchable and flexible electronics. The symposium on ‘Soft and Continuum Mechanisms’  focuses on providing a venue for researchers to present their findings, interact with other researchers in the field, and discuss future directions.
