Applications
The MyCo family is intended to cover a broad range of collaborative automation tasks rather than one specialised process. Comau identifies applications including handling, loading and unloading, assembly, machine tending, dispensing, palletising, marking, screwing, arc welding, machine finishing and spraying.
The smaller models provide compact options for light components and restricted workspaces, while the 8 kg, 10 kg and 15 kg versions expand the range into applications requiring more load capacity or longer reach. The family’s repeatability and force-control functions can also support processes where consistent movement, controlled contact or manual teaching are important.
Comau markets MyCo across automotive manufacturing, metalworking, renewable energy, railway and naval industries. It also identifies warehousing and secondary packaging applications in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage. The MyCo Learning Station extends the platform into schools, universities, vocational education and professional robotics training.
Benefits and Integration
MyCo’s main practical advantage is the amount of choice available within one consistent cobot family. Users can select among six payload-and-reach combinations while retaining the same general programming, communications, mounting and integration approach. This can be useful for companies that need different cobot sizes across multiple workstations.
All models can be installed on a floor, wall, ceiling or inclined surface. Standard IP54 protection, optional IP66 protection and an operating-temperature range of 0°C to 50°C allow the family to cover a relatively broad range of indoor industrial conditions. Internal cabling helps reduce external routing around the arm, while the available I/O and industrial communication options support integration with grippers, sensors, machines and production equipment.
Graphical programming, manual guidance, force control and remote calling are intended to reduce programming and deployment complexity. Comau also highlights rapid redeployment, allowing a properly engineered cobot installation to be adapted when production requirements change.

MyCo Compared with the Comau Racer-5 COBOT
MyCo is a broad, six-model cobot family covering payloads from 3 kg to 15 kg. It is primarily presented around ease of installation, graphical programming, manual guidance, force control, ROS/ROS 2 integration, rapid redeployment and a choice of payload and reach combinations.
The Racer-5-0.80 COBOT (a different type of cobot by Comau) is one specific 5 kg model with an 809 mm reach, ±0.03 mm repeatability and a robot weight of 34 kg. Its main distinguishing feature is its ability to switch between collaborative speed and full industrial-robot speed according to whether an operator is present. Comau specifies speeds of up to 500 mm/s in collaborative mode and up to 6 m/s in non-collaborative mode.
In practical terms, MyCo provides the wider selection and more conventional cobot-oriented ecosystem, including six sizes, force-control integration, graphical programming, ROS/ROS 2 support and optional IP66 protection. The Racer-5 COBOT is more specialised around combining a compact 5 kg collaborative robot with high-speed industrial performance when collaborative operation is not required.
