Applications

The HCR lineup is designed to cover a wide selection of industrial automation tasks rather than one narrow application. Hanwha lists pick and place, assembly, machine tending, palletising, welding, packaging, dispensing, inspection, food and beverage work, and polishing or grinding among its application areas.

The smaller HCR-3A, HCR-5W and HCR-5A are useful where space, portability or precision matters. The HCR-3A is designed for confined workspaces, while the HCR-5W is a dedicated compact welding model. The HCR-5A is positioned as the general-purpose member of the family and provides a balance between size, reach and payload.

For heavier work, the HCR-12A and HCR-14 provide 12 kg and 14 kg payloads respectively. The HCR-10L prioritises extended reach, while the HCR-32 is intended for substantially heavier objects. Hanwha has demonstrated the HCR-32 handling products such as solar panels and battery modules.

Brief History

The HCR name stands for Hanwha Collaborative Robot. The range began with the HCR-5 in 2017, followed by the HCR-3 and HCR-12 in 2019.
