Applications
The Doosan A-Series is suitable for a wide range of practical automation tasks. In industrial settings, it can be used for machine tending, pick-and-place, inspection, gluing and bonding, packaging, light assembly, and air blowing. These are exactly the types of repetitive jobs where a compact collaborative robot can help reduce manual workload, improve consistency, and keep production moving.
The 5 kg models are better suited to lighter parts, compact workspaces, inspection tasks, small assembly jobs, and general pick-and-place. The 9 kg models give more payload and reach, making them better for medium-sized parts, packaging, machine tending, and broader workcell coverage.
The S models, A0509S and A0912S, are especially useful where force control is valuable. That can include polishing, deburring, delicate assembly, or tasks where the robot needs to sense and respond to contact forces more carefully. This makes the S versions better suited for applications where simple position control is not enough.
The F models, A0509F and A0912F, are aimed at food and beverage environments. These models are relevant for tasks such as coffee preparation, frying, noodle preparation, beer pouring, ice cream serving, and other service-style automation tasks where hygiene and repeatable motion matter.
What Makes the Doosan A-Series Different
The Doosan A-Series sits on the lighter, more accessible side of Doosan Robotics’ cobot lineup. It is not the heavy-duty family, and it is not the premium force-control family either. Instead, it is best understood as Doosan’s practical, agile, and cost-conscious cobot series for common automation jobs.
Compared with Doosan’s M-Series, the A-Series is generally more entry-friendly and focused on speed and economics, while the M-Series is positioned as the more premium line with stronger built-in force-control capability across the series. Compared with the H-Series, the A-Series is much lighter-duty: the H-Series is built for heavier payloads and larger work envelopes. Compared with the P-Series, the A-Series is more general-purpose, while the P-Series is mainly aimed at palletizing. Compared with the E-Series, the A-Series is broader, although the A0509F and A0912F bring food and beverage capability into the A-Series family.
That makes the A-Series a strong fit for businesses that want a flexible cobot for light-to-medium automation, especially where speed, ease of use, and return on investment are important.
