Applications and Use Cases
FAIRINO's FR Series cobots can be used across a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications, from handling small components to moving heavier objects. Depending on the model, they can perform tasks such as pick-and-place, assembly, screw fastening, palletising, welding, quality inspection, grinding, and glue dispensing.
The smaller FR3 and FR5 models are suitable for handling lighter components and working in compact production environments. The FR10 and FR16 provide higher payload capacities for more demanding manufacturing tasks, while the FR20 and FR30 extend the range into heavier material handling and palletising.
FAIRINO also offers specialised variants, including the lightweight FR3-C and FR5-C and the welding-oriented FR3-WMS and FR3-WML. These broaden the possible applications beyond conventional production lines.
Outside industrial manufacturing, FAIRINO also promotes cobot applications in education, food and beverage services, and new retail, including automated food and drink preparation.
What Makes These Cobots Special
One of the main strengths of the FR Series is the variety of models available under the same product family. Rather than focusing on a single payload category, FAIRINO offers cobots ranging from compact 3 kg models to the 30 kg FR30.
Interestingly, the model with the highest payload is not the one with the longest reach. The FR30 can handle a rated 30 kg with a reach of 1,403 mm, while the FR5-WML offers a much longer reach of 1,900 mm with a 5 kg payload. This gives users different options depending on whether they need lifting capacity or a larger working area.
Another notable feature is FAIRINO's focus on developing its own robot components and control technology. The robots use joint feedback systems and support graphical programming, drag teaching, and software development tools.
Together, these features make the FR Series a flexible family of cobots for manufacturers, automation integrators, and developers.
Programming, Integration and Flexibility
FAIRINO has designed the FR Series with an emphasis on making robot programming and integration more approachable. Users can program and control the robots through a teach pendant or web-based interface, with graphical programming and drag teaching available to help set up tasks.
For more advanced applications, FAIRINO also provides software development support, including Python, C++, C#, ROS, and ROS 2. Communication options such as TCP/IP and Modbus allow the robots to connect with other industrial equipment, while additional protocols are available depending on the controller and configuration.
The robots can also be installed in different orientations, offering flexibility when fitting them into existing production lines or workspaces.
Alongside the robots, FAIRINO offers an ecosystem of compatible components and application solutions, including grippers, vision systems, welding, and palletising tools. This helps users build automation systems around the cobots rather than relying on the robot arms alone.
