Applications Across Different Industries
The Delta D-Bot Series is designed for a wide range of industrial automation tasks, from handling small components to moving heavier materials. With six models offering payloads from 6 to 30 kg and reaches from 800 to 1,800 mm, businesses can choose a cobot that matches their application requirements.
These cobots can be used for assembly, pick-and-place, packaging, palletizing, welding, machine tending and quality inspection. Delta also identifies finishing and transportation-related handling among the series' application areas. Depending on the task, additional grippers, tools, sensors or other equipment may be required.
The series is relevant to industries including automotive manufacturing, electronics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and logistics. Whether the goal is to automate repetitive handling or support more precise production processes, the range provides several payload and reach options without requiring every application to use the same robot size.
Easy Programming and Flexible Integration
One of the main attractions of the D-Bot Series is its focus on making industrial automation easier to set up and use. Delta offers a drag-and-drop programming interface and a touchscreen teach pendant, allowing users to create and manage robot operations without relying entirely on traditional coding.
For more advanced applications, the cobots support programming options including Python, C#, C++ and ROS 2. They can also communicate with industrial equipment through protocols such as Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP, with additional connectivity options available through external hardware.
Delta promotes a setup process that can get the robot ready for programming in around an hour, although integrating the entire application may take longer. The series also supports RoboDK for offline simulation and programming, while optional NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim integration provides further simulation and digital-twin capabilities.
Together, these features make the D-Bot Series suitable for both straightforward automation tasks and more customised industrial applications.
Safety, Adaptability and Design
The D-Bot Series combines collaborative operation with safety features intended to support workplaces where people and robots share space. One of its distinctive features is Delta's Reflex Safety technology, which detects contact, stops movement and retracts the robot to reduce the potential impact of a collision.
The cobots also offer configurable safety parameters, including position, speed, torque and operating limits. These features help integrators adapt robot behaviour to different applications. As with other collaborative robots, however, appropriate risk assessment and safety measures remain necessary for each installation.
Another useful feature is omnidirectional mounting, allowing D-Bots to be installed upright, sideways or overhead. Selected configurations are also available with IP66 protection for environments requiring resistance to dust and water jets.
Beyond their functional design, the series has received international recognition, including the Red Dot Best of the Best Design Award 2024 and German Design Award 2025. These awards highlight the attention Delta has given to the appearance and industrial design of its cobots.
Comparing the Six D-Bot Models
DC06
Payload: 6 kg | Reach: 800 mm | Robot Weight: 24 kg
Smallest payload and shortest reach in the series. Worth considering when a lighter robot with a shorter working reach meets the application's needs.
DC08
Payload: 8 kg | Reach: 1,300 mm | Robot Weight: 40 kg
Provides substantially more reach than the DC06, with a modest increase in payload capacity.
DC10
Payload: 10 kg | Reach: 1,200 mm | Robot Weight: 39 kg
Offers more payload capacity than the DC08, with a slightly shorter reach and lower robot weight.
DC16
Payload: 16 kg | Reach: 1,600 mm | Robot Weight: 70 kg
Combines a higher payload with extended reach, making it a potential choice for handling larger loads over longer distances.
DC20
Payload: 20 kg | Reach: 1,800 mm | Robot Weight: 101 kg
Offers the longest reach in the D-Bot Series, alongside a substantial payload capacity.
DC30
Payload: 30 kg | Reach: 1,300 mm | Robot Weight: 98 kg
The highest-payload model in the series, offering heavier load handling with a shorter reach than the DC16 and DC20.
